Please Knock On My Door: Brings You A Journey You Won’t Forget on the PC

Developer GTLime announced back on Halloween Day, that Please Knock on My Door, “a social commentary game about depression, loneliness, and phobia,” will be making its ways to PC via Steam in Early 2015. The gameplay that players will experience in Please Knock on My Door, will have you feel what it is like being the dark 24/7, or if you are already living that kind of life, then you will definitely be reminded about your life, and how it doesn’t really involve going out at all. It can be very depressing and isolating, just being in your house or just your room, and this game wants to help you understand what is going on with your friends, in order to be there for them and comfort them during these sort of situations.

Take on the role and follow a person that suffers from depression, but depression is just the beginning for this main character, there are struggles for everyday activities like sleeping, working, and eating. Every event is different depending on how the main characters mood may be at the current moment, from self-destructive actions and also the character’s struggle with arachnophobia. The struggle is real for this character, and the events even take place while the main character is asleep, where you will get to see both the wants and fears. The music that you will get to experience in Please Knock on My Door is being created by the musician Ola Bäckström (https://soundcloud.com/olabero), “who most recently created the music and sound effects for futuristic ball-sport game Epigenesis.”

“I designed the game for people who know someone suffering from depression, but might not fully understand what their friend or loved one is going through,” mentioned Michael Levall, aka GTLime. “Please Knock on My Door aims to underline the importance of being present and approachable to someone suffering from depression. The name itself comes from the deep need for someone else to come in and break your dark cycle of depression, the first step to getting better is often to find someone to talk to and confide in. My hope is that doing this through a digital medium will help people explore what can otherwise be a very tough subject matter to talk about.”
