PlayStation Showcase May 2023 – Phantom Blade 0 Trailer Release

In the recent PlayStation Showcase 2023, Phantom Blade 0 was revealed with a three and a half minute trailer showing gameplay and the cinematographic qualities the game is able to showcase. Phantom Blade 0 was developed by S-Game. This trailer showed that the game is a fast-paced, third-person action RPG that utilizes sword fighting in a variety of ways.

The trailer also shows a plethora of different enemy encounters between hordes of enemies that the protagonist is slashing through, to boss fights where players will have to deflect projectiles and time their attacks based on the attacks of the opposing bosses. Battles in this game emphasize the cinematic angle of the game’s dark, but beautiful presentation to immerse the audiences into the experience.

According to PlayStation Blog, this game is meant to be a spiritual rebirth for S-Game’s 2010 indie game, Rainblood. In a quote from the founder and CEO of S-Game, Soulframe Liang, he describes the story by saying:

In Phantom Blade Zero, you play as Soul, an elite assassin serving an elusive but powerful organization known simply as “The Order.” Soul is framed for the murder of The Order’s patriarch, gravely injured in the ensuing manhunt, and, though his life is saved by a mystic healer, the makeshift cure will only last for 66 days. Now, he must fight against powerful foes and inhuman monstrosities, all while seeking out the mastermind behind it all before his time runs out.

At the moment, there is no release date set for this game, however it seems well into production, seeing as the game was given about a three minute long trailer to explore the various features Phantom Blade 0 will have to offer.
