Pix the Cat to be Released on Steam

French developer, Pastagames, nostalgic inspired video game; Pix the Cat will soon be available for players on Steam this January. The game is already released on PlayStation consoles and has received an 80% positive rating on Metacritic.com.

Pix the Cat is an arcade styled game that is the combination of Pac-Man and Snake. This quirky game will challenge your wits and reflexes to see who can save the most ducklings while achieving the highest score. There are four gaming modes players can choose from such as the arcade, nostalgia, laboratory, and arena. Nostalgia mode is very reminiscent of the time and tested game Snake. The main goal of this mode is to collect the required amount of ducklings while avoiding running into the wall or facing game over. Arcade mode is a race against time to stack up massive amounts of points for a chance to be on the leader boards. You can “compete against the ghost of your best run, your friends’ best runs or even the devs’.” Only in arcade mode can you unlock the other three modes.

The laboratory is filled with puzzle challenges that require calculated moves to complete each level. This mode is measured by how many moves you make and has no time requirement for completion. Players must carefully navigate their way through the levels while dodging various dangers and with a chance to collect bonus stamps. There are over 100 experiments within this mode. Arena is a local battle mode that allows you and a friend to be pitted against four PixBots. Players can collect ammo-eggs for missiles and lay down mines to temporarily stop their enemies. This mode has seven arenas with different environments that challenge players to adapt too. Users who can adjust to the different modes quickly hold the key to being the last PixBot standing.

There is no set in stone release date yet, but Steam users can expect to see Pix the Cat available for play at this end of this month. Please visit their official website for details.
