

Publisher PM Studios and developer Pocket Trap have revealed a brand new trailer and release date for their top-down action indie platformer Pipistrello And The Cursed Yoyo. Gematsu reports that the the title is slated to release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch and PC on May 28. A demo is readily available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch for those interested in trying the game and an exclusive physical edition is being made available for The PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch version which will include a Pippit Plushie. A release date announcement for this physical edition is expected in the coming weeks.
Pipistrello and The Cursed Yoyo takes place in a bustling city run by rival crime families including shopping districts, industrial complexes and some dungeons. You assume the role of Pippit, a self proclaimed yoyo master who doesn’t mesh with his highly influential family the Pipistrellos; He is caught in a rival gang’s plot to overthrow his family and has to handle the conflict.
Pipistrello and The Cursed Yoyo features four distinct districts to explore and 1000 screens of challenges. You’ll navigate the labyrinthe building of four crime bosses, while solving puzzles. Pipistrello and The Cursed Yoyo features a navigation system where you create your own routes using you yoyo to parkour and defeat mob minions. There are 40 ability enhancing badges, 20 passive upgrades, and 80 collectibles that can be found in town, which include upgrades and treasures.
Pipistrello and The Cursed Yoyo draws inspiration from classic titles, and it is apparent; From series like Zelda, Megaman and Metroid. The attention to detail poured into this retro style title inspires confidence that with a bit of passion, projects like this can make their mark. The hope is that the title will have its share of success this May.
