Phoenix Labs Reveals Dauntless Open Beta Date

On May 24th, 2018, Dauntless will finally enter into Open Beta. During the Close Beta, 100,000 players have already joined the quest of slaying the Behemoths, and made a huge impact on the future development of the game.

The creators of Dauntless explain that the purpose of the Closed Beta was to help develop the foundation of the game. They started with “experimental versions of progression, the cells system, elemental damage…” and much more. After collecting the results from the Closed Beta testing, Phoenix Labs confirms “New weapons, Behemoths, quests, and new ways to slay are currently in the works”

Dauntless presents vividly colorful setting where players go off to fearlessly slay colossal Behemoths. These monsters come in many colors and from various environments, but they all share one trait in common: they are formidably enormous. While taking a nice stroll in the forest, Slayers are met with multiple species of Behemoths, whose names are just as fearsome as their stature. Within the game, players can battle a “Skarn”, which was named after a deadly rocky avalanche. Or they can go up against the ferocious “Shrike”, the Behemoth that dominates the sky.

Of course, no Slayer can defeat deadly Behemoth without the proper armor. In this game, players can collect ingredients from the Behemoths to craft the most powerful armor. And what’s unique about each type is that “Each armor has its own perks and bonuses”. Additionally, the creators have allowed players to personalize their armor by offering an assortment of colors from jet black to vibrant yellow, and finishes such as “shiny, matte, etc.” To pair with a Slayer’s armor, and a players preference, they have the option to choose which weapon they would like wield; choices that range from brutal axes to precise swords that can “unleash devastating blasts”.

Dauntless holds great potential because of their gorgeous art style and for its great Behemoths who carry legendary stories behind their names. Phoenix Labs elicit much excitement and confidence of their game as they ask “Big changes are coming to Dauntless! What are you excited for?” To which fan responds, “What am I excited for? EVERYTHING…”

Dauntless will soon be available as a free-to-play on PC this year.
