Yesterday, Atlus released a trailer for the upcoming musou-style spinoff of Persona 5, Persona 5 Scramble. The new trailer revealed several gameplay features, some social situations, some brand new locations, and a little bit of the plot. The game will take place after the events of Persona 5 and will be releasing for both the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Japan in February of 2020.
The trailer shows off various elements that players will be able to enjoy in the game such as platforming and stealth. It appears players will be able to sneak up on Shadows just like in Persona 5 getting the jump on them and giving them their last surprise. The trailer also shows Makoto able to combat enemies while riding a motorcycle as well as showing off Joker mowing down enemies on a snowboard while shredding the slopes. The trailer also shows off a new location for a social interaction with Makoto on a Ferris Wheel. Another new feature that is shown off in the trailer is Joker’s Kitchen which appears to allow players to craft various food items to eat to replenish the character’s energy. It also appears that the game will feature some non-combat areas as the trailer shows Joker walking through a crowded mall area.
The trailer also showed off two new enemies who could be two of the bosses in the story. The first enemy is a woman with pink hair with strips of blue, and she appears to be wielding a staff with a flamingo head, a bowtie, and pink and blue stripes, and is named Shadow Alice. The second enemy is also female and appears to be in an area surrounded by ice. There has been no confirmation of a western release as of yet and little more information has been revealed at this moment.
Persona 5 Scramble isn’t the only Persona game to be releasing soon, gamers in the west will only have to wait a few more months for the release of Persona 5 Royal which is releasing in the west on March 31st, 2020.
