Once Human Confirms Mobile Release in April 2025

Developed and published on July 9, 2024, by Starry Studio as a subsidiary of NetEase, Once Human is a free-to-play multiplayer survival game set in a post-apocalyptic future. The game received mixed reviews upon release but has since gained popularity, with over 230,000 collective players on Steam. The game’s increasing popularity has led to server queues due to high demand. On August 16, 2024, it reached the top position in Steam’s “Top Sellers” ranking, making it a globally recognized title. Now mobile gamers will have the opportunity to try the game out, with its upcoming release date set for April 2025.

Once Human throws players into a world devastated by the Starfall event, in which an alien substance called Stardust has transformed humans into creatures called Deviations. Players discover that they are biologically enhanced versions of human beings called Meta-Humans, who are able to control Stardust for their own purposes. Players and their mystical bird companion named V work to undermine the villainous corporation Rosetta, who originally created Meta-Humans.

Starry Studio confirmed that Once Human Mobile would be released next year in April on December 18, via a post on the game’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, encouraging potential players to pre-register in order to receive legendary cosmetics. The post provides link to do so, sending interested players straight to the Once Human pre-registration page where a more detailed list of possible rewards is displayed. The post also urges its readers to share a pre-registration screenshot for a chance at receiving an exclusive Redeem Code. A total of five players will be selected as winners each week until March 31, 2025. As of today, Once Human Mobile has already surpassed 26 million pre-registrations.

Anyone interested in playing Once Human Mobile will be able to download the game for free on iOS and Android devices. Although the game’s specific release date has not been provided as of yet, Starry Studio appears fairly certain that the launch will occur at some point in April 2025.

While many video games are available only to those who can afford expensive consoles and computers, mobile games are designed for the average person.
