On August 9th, 2026 the Developers of No Man’s Sky announced major milestone, reaching their 10-year anniversary. Originally, the game had started off rough with players leaving mixed reviews. However, each major update proved that Hello Games was dedicated to shaping the space exploration game players desired.
Each major update since their launch back in August 2026 has added new features for players to enjoy. All ranging from base building, aquatic exploration, outlaws, and so much more. Hello Games has proved that a game can still continue to grow and expand after its release.
In celebration of No Man’s Sky, Hello Games posted an anniversary trailer on the YouTube channel. The trailer features each major update they have done while teasing an upcoming update in the works. Short clips highlight features for each update, capturing the vastness and dangers of space exploration.
This year alone, the developers have released three major updates back in February, April, and May. The Remnant update introduced a gravity gun into the game, allowing players to grab large objects, fling them, or carefully maneuver them around. Of course, the updates also added vehicle customization along with features for the new Waste Processing Plants.
April’s update, Xeno Arena, added a turn-based tactical combat arena at the space stations. The update lets players collect alien creatures across the universe, raising and training them to battle in the holo-arenas. Abilities have been added to the alien companions, adding further incentive to explore and collect them.
In May, the developers released The Swarm update, which divided players into three factions and added a threat to the whole universe: the Hive of Glass. Each faction must assist in the war effort against the Hive of Glass. The faction that contributes the most would be memorialized in the Space Anomaly.
Each updated has added a variety of gameplay elements that it is hard to imagine what else is left to come. No Man’s Sky: Cosmos is an update that players will want to keep an eye out for. Prospective players can get the game on a variety of platforms including, Steam, Xbox, Playstation, and the Nintendo Switch.
