Earlier today, Nintendo announced that they will be hosting their next video presentation this Wednesday, March 20, with the Spring 2019 Nindies Showcase. The presentation is set to last around thirty minutes, and will feature the newest indie titles headed to Nintendo Switch this year. Fans can tune in live to the Nindies Showcase at 12:00 p.m. ET/9:00 a.m. PT on Nitendo’s official website.

The company has yet to reveal what will be appearing during the video presentation, but thirty minutes is a lot of time to fill. Last year, during the Summer Nindies Showcase, the company highlighted over twenty games in under sixteen minutes, so fans can expect there will be a plethora of indie titles highlighted and headed to the hybrid console during this video presentation.
This Nindies Showcase comes off the back of Nintendo holding an Indie Highlight event back in January which showcased games like WarGroove and SteamWorld Quest. Following this, the company hosted two separate Nintendo Directs during February. Those Directs highlight the company’s massive catalog of games for this year including Super Mario Maker 2, a remake of Link’s Awakening, and Pokémon Sword and Shield.
The Nintendo Switch has become a place for indie games to thrive since its release in 2017. A lot of titles have skyrocketed to their highest sales after coming to the hybrid console compared to other consoles. Indie sensation Hollow Knight even sold so well on the Nintendo Switch that its sequel, Hollow Knight: Silksong, is set to launch on the console upon its release where it took over a year for its predecessor to come to the console. It’s safe to assume that the indie game market will continue to thrive on the Nintendo Switch thanks to the company featuring them in special events like the upcoming Spring Showcase.
