Nicki Minaj is making her debut into Call of Duty Modern Warfare II and Warzone as an Operator. Minaj comes to COD in celebration of 50 Years of Hip Hop, which also sees the addition of Snoop Dogg and 21 Savage as Operators. Minaj will be the ”first-ever self-named female operator” in the COD franchise, as all other female Operators have been fictional.
For those who are eager to play as Nicki Minaj, they’ll have to wait when she’s launched at some point in Season 5. As well, Minaj will have her own storefront, where players can purchase her Operator and pink assault rifle she’s featured holding in the photo released from Activision.

Along with the celebration for 50 Years of Hip Hop, players can log on every day from August 7th to August 16th to claim free War Tracks, each from the 80s, 90s, and 00s respectively. It’s unclear currently what tracks will be featured, though the addition of Snoop Dogg, 21 Savage, and Nicki Minaj could indicate their own artistry included amongst the tracks.
In an announcement for some of the content coming to Season 5, Activision stated “Playtime is over; this is not ‘Chill Nicki’; this is Red Ruby Da Sleeze.”
The announcement came to resounding attention across social media, especially for the Barbz, who are infatuated at the mere thought of playing the Harajuku Barbie in a Call of Duty game. It wouldn’t be surprising if COD saw an increase in player count, with those seeking to purchase and play as Queen Barb.
Lara Croft is also reportedly to be introduced as an upcoming Operator in COD, based upon a recent leak from PlayStation Blog. While there’s been no official news from Activision, the leak is well enough to confirm she’ll be making an appearance soon.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is also set to be revealed sometime soon, thanks to yet again, another leak and rumors of features coming to the next sequel.
