Endnight Games first announced their project, Sons of The Forest, at The Game Awards 2019 and today released their second teaser trailer. Sons of The Forest, also known as The Forest 2, is the sequel to the April 2018 original The Forest which has a 9/10 rating on Steam. Endnight Games revealed in the second trailer that it will be released in 2021. The developer is an independent games studio from Canada.

The Forest is a survival game where players must build with the resources they find while also defending their base. Players can fight their way through the forest solo or with up to eight friends on the multiplayer component. With the Sons of the Forest being a sequel to the original game, there should be a similar multiplayer component available. The game is designed to give freedom to the player on how they want to play the game: stealthily or attack enemies head-on.
Enter a living, breathing forest, where every tree and plant can be chopped down. Below ground explore a vast network of caves and underground lakes. Crash land alone, or with friends in up to 8 player cooperative multiplayer. Explore and build during the day. Defend your base at night. Craft weapons and tools. Bunker down during the evening or bring the fight directly to the enemy.
The Forest is currently available on Steam and the PlayStation Store. There has been no announcement on whether the game will be coming to the Microsoft Store or the PlayStation 5. Endnight Games also did not give a specific timeframe for when the game will be released in 2021.
