New World’s Release Date Pushed Back Once Again

Amazon Game’s upcoming MMORPG New World seems to be hitting lots of highs and lows on its long road to completing its development, and now it seems to be slowing down even more. On August 4th, 2021, game developers from the New World team announced that New World’s release date will be postponed to September.

This isn’t the first time that New World has been the victim of setbacks and delays. Back in July of last year, Amazon Games pushed back the release date of New World to spring of 2021. That didn’t come to fruition (obviously), as in February of 2021, Amazon Games pushed back the release once again, setting the date to August 25th. Now for a third time New World is being postponed, this time by just over a month. New World is set for global release on September 28th, and with any luck, this release date will stand. After all, they do say ‘third time’s a charm’.

The most recent New World postponement comes in wake of the game’s incredibly successful beta test, which began on July 20th and closed this week on August 2nd. A Tweet, sent out earlier today, announced that, after closing the beta testing of the game, developers want to allow for extra time to take all of the players’ suggestions to heart and fine-tune New World to bring the best quality possible to players when the game officially releases.

Despite the many ups and downs throughout New World’s development, it seems expectations for the game are still set high. And while the postponement of the game may leave a sour taste in many gamer’s mouths, with any luck, these extra few weeks of development will bring New World to a whole new level.

If you want to see what all of the excitement is about, you can get ready to dive into New World yourself. New World is available for pre-order on Amazon and Steam now and is set for release on September 28th, 2021.
