New Terminator Game Announced for December Release

A new Terminator game by developer Teyon and publisher Reef Entertainment has recently been announced. A new announcement trailer was dropped as well, bringing fans back into the world of evil machines hell-bent on world domination, or at least the destruction of the human race. Terminator: Resistance will tell the story of the Future War, which the movies The Terminator and T2: Judgment Day show only briefly. The first-person shooter gives players the chance to operate as a member of the resistance, Jacob Rivers, whose actions could very well determine the fate of all mankind. You can check out the announcement trailer for the game below.

According to the game’s websiteTerminator: Resistance is an officially licensed trip into the world of chaos brought on by the sentience of Skynet, a self-aware computer system capable of not only creating bloodthirsty robots but time travel as well. Playing as Private Rivers, players will level up their skills as they see fit, all while making choices that will snowball to different endings of the game. The game will feature both story missions and side quests, allowing players to further explore a world overrun by cybernetics. Set in post-apocalyptic Los Angeles just over 30 years after Judgement Day, players will encounter a harsh landscape where the hope of survival relies on their ability to scavenge scraps to trade or craft into useful items.

Not only will players be up against well-known Skynet baddies such as the T-800, but also “a host of enemies that are brand new to the Terminator universe.” The choice as to how to play the game is up to the players. The armed to the teeth, everyone gets a bullet-style of play is definitely represented with “an arsenal of plasma weaponry,” but there are benefits to stealth as well, taking out enemies from the shadows for a less hectic approach. Either way, Jacob Rivers has been marked for termination, so there will be no shortage of enemies to kill with either approach.

Terminator: Resistance is set for release in North America on December 3, 2019, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC through Steam.
