Developer PUBG Studios announced on Tuesday a collaboration to bring NieR Series characters to New State Mobile as a part of its latest update. The themed content will be available from April 29 through May 19, along with a themed event and collection of new in-game items. New State Mobile is currently available for free download on the App Store, Google Play Store and Galaxy Store for iPhone and Android devices.
“Many of us here at KRAFTON and PUBG Studios are huge fans of the NieR Series, so when presented with the opportunity to collaborate we were immediately excited,” said Executive Producer Minkyu Park in the press release. “We hope fans of both series enjoy the unique experiences offered through this partnership!” Players will be able to equip costumes of NeiR: Automata’s signature characters 2B and 9S and NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139…’s Protagonist as well as the option to obtain Kaine. Corresponding items such as armor, emotes, weapon and vehicle skins and more will also be available. Most of these will be obtainable from NieR-themed crates.
“I never thought I would see cosplay of NieR Series characters in the world of New State Mobile,” said NieR:Automata producer Yosuke Saito. “I’m very excited to see this collaboration come together and bridge the worlds of NieR:Automata and New State Mobile.” Players will also have the chance to complete themed missions, which rewards them with a NieR Series profile icon, profile frame and frame effect which further customizes their profiles. NieR: Automata is a popular console/PC ARPG known for its deep, captivating storyline and fantastic blend of action-packed and high-speed battles throughout a machine-driven dystopia overrun by powerful machine lifeforms.
Previously titled PUBG: New State, New State Mobile is near-future set battle royale game with roots in PUBG: Battlegrounds, but is a fresh, hardcore expansion of it compared to the likes of PUBG Mobile. The objective is to be the last player alive out of 100 on the remote island of Troi set in the year 2051. Players drop from a plane to navigate the sparse woodland decorated with futuristic buildings, architecture and monuments and rush to collect supplies in order to survive. New State Mobile was first released in November 2021. Its current collaboration involves hit game Among Us, where players can engage in an Among Us-themed mini-game, find related in-game items and props on Troi. This event has been ongoing since April 21 and will last until May 19.
