New Leak Reportedly Reveals Mortal Kombat 11’s DLC Characters

A data mine in the Nintendo Switch version of Mortal Kombat 11 may have potentially revealed the upcoming DLC characters that will be added to the game in the future. The leak revealed 9 characters. Shang Tsung was revealed to be the first DLC character.

The 9 characters in total are a mix of returning Mortal Kombat characters, some characters that would be new to the mix and some characters that fans have been wanting for a long time.

The list was revealed on Reddit where the user also wrote a guide on how someone could see the list for themselves if they wanted to. The list includes Shang Tsung, Joker, Nightwolf, Terminator, Sindel, Spawn, Ash, Fujin, and Sheeva.

Sheeva, Nightwolf, Fujin, Sindel, and Shang Tsung are all characters part of Mortal Kombat. Each character has been in several games or has been used as DLC before. Joker, Spawn, Terminator, and Ash are all characters from other entertainment properties.

Spawn has been a long fan-requested character that many have been asking for. Spawn creator Todd Mcfarlane said in an AMA that “I believe he’s on his way” when asked about the character appearing in the game.

Joker is a character that makes sense since NetherRealm works on the Injustice series which features DC Comics characters. Injustice 2 also included members from Mortal Kombat with Sub-Zero and Raiden were a part of the DLC characters released.

The Terminator and Ash continue the streak of characters from movies making it into Mortal Kombat. Mortal Kombat X had several popular characters from Horror franchises such as Leatherface, Alien, Predator, and Jason.

One of the more interesting things about the leak is that it lists 9 characters while the Kombat Pack only includes access to 6. Either way, while this seems to be what will be happening, this is not official.

Time will tell whether this is true when the characters get released. Mortal Kombat 11 releases April 23, 2019, for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
