Today NetherRealm Studios revealed the rest of the DLC characters joining the Mortal Kombat 11 roster in the Kombat Pack for the game’s first season as part of Gamescom 2019. Joining returning characters Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, and Sindel and Todd McFarlane’s Spawn are guests The Joker from DC Comics and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator T-800.
The trailer also shares release dates for the rest of the Kombat Pack DLC fighters. Schwarzenegger’s T-800 will be available for play on October 8th of this year and is designed after the Terminator: Dark Fate version of the character. Terminator: Dark Fate debuts in theaters shortly after on November 1st in the US. DC Comics villain The Joker releases early next year on January 28th, with Spawn following on March 17th. Returning kombatant Sindel will be playable this year on November 26th. Each DLC character comes with unique skins and gear, and “19 additional skins” are available as well.
The Joker crosses over from the DC Comics/ Injustice universe equipped with a cane and a look more reminiscent of Jack Nicholson’s Joker in 1989’s Batman. Arnie’s got a shotgun too, and Spawn has his trademark chains. NetherRealm hasn’t released gameplay footage for the guest characters yet, but it’s a good indication that their weapons will be a big part of their moveset and lead to some slick variations.
An earlier datamine of the Nintendo Switch port revealed a leak of the DLC characters that would be headed to Mortal Kombat 11 in the first DLC pack, and so far most of that leaked roster has proven true. Other leaked characters that have yet to be announced are Mortal Kombat originals Sheeva and Fujin and guest character Ash from the movie Evil Dead. Bruce Campbell himself has denied that Ash is making it into Mortal Kombat 11, putting that aspect of the leak on shaky ground. There’s little doubt that there will be a second DLC Kombat Pack following Spawn’s release in March 2020, and anything can happen.
