The developers of Google Stadia are starting to show the ambitions they have had from the start when they began creating their new streaming game service. Heads are starting to turn more and more especially after the announcement Stadia had at the Stadia Connect at Gamescom today. Stadia showed off many more games that will be coming to its roster along with the much anticipated title CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077.
A large array of new games have been announced for the Google Stadia but one, in particular, stood out from the crowd. Cyberpunk 2077 will be joining the roster but won’t be joining upon the April release for consoles, making no confirmed release date at this time. The fact that Cyberpunk 2077 has been announced for Stadia is a good sign in itself. The game is looking to be a graphically intensive game which proves that if developers are sure Stadia can handle such a game, it may not have problems with much else down the line. It will be interesting to see now what other games Stadia will take on as the new console generation approaches.
Many other games were announced as well to join Stadia’s roster. Mortal Kombat 11 will be available on the platform this November. Some other titles that will join the batch are The Elder Scrolls Online and Borderlands 3. Superhot was recently announced to join the Switch and will also come to Stadia. Other games include Windjammers 2, Kine, Samurai Shodown, a remake of Destroy All Humans! and Orcs Must Die! 3. All of these games will be joining other aforementioned titles, including Destiny 2, Watch Dogs: Legion, Darksiders Genesis, NBA 2K, Grid, as well as several Tomb Raider titles.
There is no doubt speculation was at high when Stadia first announced but the list of games being added frequently is becoming more promising. One can only hope that these games will play as well as they say with a decent internet connection. We’re still a few months away from the launch of Google’s Stadia cloud-streaming service so eager players can see for themselves.
