New Fallout Shelter Thanksgiving Day Themed Update Available

Bethesda has released new upgrade for its free-to-play mobile game Fallout ShelterThe update comes with new quests, a new location and some Thanksgiving Day content.

The quests in update 1.9 feature some regular, weekly and Thanksgiving Day gameplay. The new location in the game is called the Cave, which is described as a dark and mysterious place, as if caves already weren’t dark and mysterious places in the real world.

Not only are some of the quests Thanksgiving themed, there are also some decorations and special outfits that come in lunchboxes. Bethesda has confirmed that there will be Christmas and New Years Day themed updates as well.

Bethesda has also confirmed that there are new Thanksgiving Day themed stickers for iOs 10 users. New stickers will also be available for Bottle and Cappy, the mascots from Fallout 4‘s Nuka-World expansions.

Fallout Shelter is the first mobile game for Fallout as well as for Bethesda Game Studios itself. Bethesda’s Todd Howard has confirmed that Bethesda will be making more mobile games, even though none of have been announced as of November 2016.

Howard never believed that mobile Fallout game would be this popular.

I think if you expect, ‘Yeah, it’ll be number one and out-gross Candy Crush for a while,’ you’re generally going to be set up for failure and disappointment. Mostly we were concerned with it being appropriate for who we are [as Bethesda Game Studios]–meaning it’s got a bit more meat on the bone than other things like it. But its overall popularity? We were not ready for that, which is a good problem.

Bethesda decided that they should make mobile games because the developers were already playing smartphone games, which inspired them to make their own.

“It’s in your pocket, a lot of [the games are] free or easy to try,” Howard said. “So every time you’re playing, you’re thinking, ‘We could do one of these, I think we could do something special here.’ So we’re gonna do more.

Fallout Shelter is currently available for free for Android, iOS and PC.

I'm a big Pokémon fan, so I'l spend a lot of my time playing that. Other than that, I love sports, particularly the Charlotte Hornets and the Carolina Panthers. No matter how bad the team is, I will always rep them.
