After teasing the reveal of something Death Stranding related all week, Kojima Productions and PlayStation have released a new trailer that sheds a little light on what Death Stranding will be about. The trailer also revealed that the game is coming out on November 8, 2019, which was leaked before the new trailer was released.
The main thing that this trailer showcased was what the story of the game will be about. According to the Death Stranding page on PlayStation’s site; “Besieged by death’s tide at every turn Sam Bridges must brave a world utterly transformed by the Death Stranding. Carrying the strange remnants of the future in his hdeands, Sam embarks on a journey to reunite the shattered world one step at a time. What is the mystery of the Death Stranding? What will Sam discover on the road ahead? A genre-defining gameplay experience holds these answers and more”.
The trailer also revealed more characters that will be a part of the story in some capacity. The cast of Death Stranding includes Norman Reedus as Sam, Mads Mikkelsen as Cliff, Lea Seydoux as Fragile, Margaret Qualley as Mama, Guillermo Del Toro as Deadman, Nicolas Winding Refn as Heartman, Tommie Earl Jenkins as Die-Hardman, Troy Baker as Higgs, and Lindsey Wagner as Amelie.
The release date reveal trailer also showcases more gameplay footage. It has moments of exploration, stealth, melee combat, and gunplay. Also in the trailer was a brief look at some of the equipment that the main character Sam will be using throughout the game. Another thing that was revealed is a bike that Sam can use to travel throughout the world of Death Stranding.
Earlier today, news of Death Stranding‘s release date leaked. It was revealed through a Facebook post on the official Taiwanese Facebook page. multiple journalists also shared the same news.

Death Stranding is available for pre-order. The pre-order bonuses include a dynamic theme, psn avatar, gold “Sam” sunglasses, gold armor plate, gold hat, and a gold speed skeleton. The Collector’s Edition includes a custom steelbook, Luden’s keychain, a BB Pod, Bridge’s Cargo case, the digital music album, and 10 character avatars.
Recently, rumors of The Last of Us Part II getting a new trailer and release date was going around. According to Kotaku’s Jason Schreier, “The Last of Us Part II was planned for a 2019 release but I recently heard from a person familiar with goings-on at Sony that it’s been delayed to early 2020, likely February. And Ghost of Tsushima will follow in the next few months, with the PlayStation 5 likely launching next fall”.
