New Report on Cyberpunk 2077 Claims it Will Be 4 Times Bigger than Witcher 3

Its been about five years since CD Projekt RED announced their ambitious and mysterious RPG title Cyberpunk 2077. Since then, not many details have surfaced about that project as the Polish-based developers continued to release other titles, such as 2015’s critically-acclaimed open world RPG The Witcher 3. A new report has recently surfaced, however, as a supposed insider claims to have leaked some major details about the current development of the game, and they are truly mind-blowing.

According to the supposed leaker, Cyberpunk 2077‘s game world will be about four times larger than The Witcher 3‘s, and that’s including the new areas added in the DLC. The upcoming game will also be using The Witcher 3‘s seasonal system for generating maps on massive scales.

In addition to generating a larger game world, Cyberpunk 2077 will also feature dynamic destructible areas. The leaker offered this example of how it would work: if the surrounding area is damaged during a firefight, robots will later appear to repair or rebuild those damaged buildings. Its a great way of showing players the consequences of their battles with… whoever they’re fighting in this game (a dystopian, corporate-owned police force?).

Keep in mind this leak does come from an anonymous source, so whether or not its legitimate is up in the air right now. The claims that are being made aren’t that far-fetched, however, as CD Projekt RED is known for pushing the boundaries when it comes to creating larger and immersive game worlds, such as with The Witcher 3. Also, previous information released about the game claimed it would feature seamless multiplayer and “live” cities as part of something called “City Creation.” If cities are going to continuously be destroyed and rebuilt, dynamic destruction could be a part of that “City Creation” aspect as well.

CD Projekt RED has yet to make an official comment on these rumors.
