New Amiino Trailer Reveals Story Details After Closed Beta Announcement

First revealed last year at the Xbox Games ShowcaseAmiino is creature capture game with an open world framework. Since then, the game’s developer and publisher, Pawprint Studio, has been releasing constant updates about the game’s creatures, mechanics, and progress. The latest trailer gives an extended look at both the beginning of the story and the gameplay that players can hope to experience following the announcement of a closed beta on the official website.

The trailer begins with a group of Pathfinders coming across a group performing a spell before the outline of a massive dragon flies over the vast landscape. From there, the gameplay starts, giving looks into the different areas that players can explore, such as sprawling grasslands, a beach with traversable shallow water, and a serene forest. The weather is also shown to be variable, ranging from cloudless sun, rain and snow. During the exploration, the trailer also stops to show off the graphical improvements that have been made since the game’s initial reveal.

The second half of the showcase focuses more directly on the Amiino, the capturable creatures that follow players throughout the world. Players will have the ability to switch control to the companions they catch to play from their perspective. These creatures each have unique abilities that can be used to traverse difficult terrain or solve puzzles. Finally, players will be able to use their Amiino to fight battles against enemy creatures or even other players in multiplayer. Players are shown switching between their Amiino almost instantly in real time in order to better leverage their advantages during battle.

The final moments of the trailer show off the massive city environments that will serve as resting places between adventures. The massive multiplayer aspect of Amiino is set to be tested soon with sign-ups for the closed beta having recently opened up.
