New Ace Attorney Game Announced for September 2016

We’ve heard plenty about Ace Attorney 6 ever since it was slated for June 9th release date in Japan for this year – now, we finally have an official overseas title, trailer, and release date.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice will be released as a digital download on the Nintendo 3DS eShop in North America and Europe in September of this year, with price points of $29.99 in the US (and presumably Canada as well), and £24.99 or €29.99 in Europe.

According to the official summary, the game takes place in “the far eastern Kingdom of Khrua’in,” where the courts run on séance trials, which reveal the last moments of the victim’s life, run by the Royal Priestess of Khura’in herself – the law dictates that trials are lawyer-less, “leaving defendants helpless!”

As Phoenix Wright, players must find contradictions and discrepancies between the Priestess’ version of events and the truth of what actually happened. Meanwhile, back at Wright Anything Agency, Apollo Justice is left to hold down the fort and take on a case “that will have massive implications.”

Spirit of Justice is packed with puzzles on top of the series’ well-known witty and humorous courtroom drama. Plus, the new Divination Séance joins popular investigative techniques from previous installments to keep you constantly on your toes both in and out of the courtroom! Phoenix and Apollo will unravel captivating and revealing cases in their search for the truth, working with (or against!) a colorful cast of new and returning allies and adversaries along the way.

In addition to the NA release announcement, Nintendo has also revealed special discounts on the 3DS eShop for Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies – priced at $17.99 and $14.99, respectively. The special discount will be available until May 18th – it’s a great idea to nab the games and play all summer before Spirit of Justice is released in the fall!
