Netflix Launches Sonic Prime Dash and Sonic Prime Season Two Together

Sonic Prime Dash will launch alongside “Sonic Prime” Season 2 on Netflix. The streaming platform is getting its first Sonic game to add to their ever expanding library of mobile games as part of users’ Netflix subscription.

Sonic Prime Dash was part of Sonic Central that occurred on the twenty-third of June. The broadcast effectively acts as regular update of Sonic-related news across the spectrum of all of SEGA’s products on the Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube Channel; the update about Sonic Prime Dash happened around the six-minute and five-second timestamp.

The game very much resembles the original Sonic Dash mobile game that was released back in 2013. Sonic Dash currently has over one hundred million downloads on Google Play and the App Store; it was consistently among the most popular mobile games until 2015. On October fifteen, the game received a sequel called Sonic Dash 2: Sonic Boom that was based on the game release of Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric one year prior. Just like its two predecessors, Sonic Prime Dash will be an endless runner where players collect rings and power-ups to travel as far as possible within the game.

A trailer of Sonic Prime Dash gave viewers an idea of how this version of the mobile game was revamped for newer audiences: it built upon previously implemented gameplay to improve the experience and incorporated some characters from the Netflix show “Sonic Prime” as playable characters like Tails Nine and Rusty Rose. In addition, the game was reworked to remove all advertisements and the microtransaction system from the previous game as it makes its jump over to the Netflix library.

Sonic Prime Dash is expected to launch on July thirteenth along with the premiere of “Sonic Prime” Season Two. “Sonic Prime” is an animated Netflix show surrounding the Sonic the Hedgehog intellectual property that follows the blue blur and his group of friends as they travel through the multiverse. The trailer of the second season features Sonic interacting with a fan favorite, Shadow the Hedgehog, as they team up to take on a new foe: a variant of Metal Sonic with devious plans.
