Nerf: Legends, A First-Person Shooter Game, Coming This October

As exclusively reported by IGN, GameMill Entertainment revealed Nerf: Legends, a first-person shooter game inspired by the infamous Hasbro foam-based weaponry toys, will be coming to consoles this October. The publisher and developer of the game described Nerf: Legends as a “family-friendly FPS,” that allows children of all ages to enjoy the gameplay while also giving parents peace of mind knowing that this title promises to be “tamer” than other shooter games like Halo and Call of DutyNerf: Legends will feature both single-player and multiplayer modes, each containing campaigns that pit players against evil robots. Players will also be able to choose from a wide variety of Nerf Blasters that fire energy instead of the traditional foam darts, like the ones we’ve come to know and love.

The game will be set across 19 sci-fi locations such as Fortress Siege, Jungle Trouble, Ragnarok, and Spaceport Blastoff, each of them featuring campaigns that will contain boss battles and various challenges. Along the way, players will also be able to earn power-ups such as magnetic push darts, pull darts, seeker darts, and slow darts that will aid in combat encounters alongside the Nerf Blasters. Each blaster will be from the existing Mega, Ultra, and Elite lines with the ability to be personalized with upgradable perks and skins. Your playable character can also be customized as well.

When it comes to the multiplayer aspect of Nerf: Legends, this will be played in an arena shooter with 4v4 team battles and eight-player “free-for-all” matches that will allow cross-play from differing consoles.

Nerf: Legends will be priced at $49.99 and is planned to launch this October to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. But if you want to make sure you secure a game before it hits the stores, pre-orders are currently available at various retailers.
