Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered Announced, Launches Next Month

After teasing us last week, EA has officially announced that an official remaster for one of the entries in the Need for Speed series is on its way. Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered was revealed, and just like its counterpart, Burnout Remastered, this one is also being developed by Stellar Entertainment. The title is being released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and the Nintendo Switch and it will launch next month on November 6 for the former three while the latter Switch will launch on November 13.

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered will obviously have a huge graphical upgrade compared to the original which launched back in 2010 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and PC. In addition, the game will also have cross-platform multiplayer, allowing anyone and everyone to partake in all kinds of races with their friends despite having different consoles/PC’s. The game will also include all of the previously released DLC, as well as a newer photo-mode, and the Autolog, the in-game social network that allows you and your friends to to challenge each other with specific in-game accomplishments.

As we mentioned already, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit was originally released in 2010 and was considered at the time to be one of the best racing simulator games in the history of the genre. The title was critically acclaimed and was nominated for numerous end of the year awards, including Racing Game of the Year. Since then, other racing titles have come into the forefront of the industry, such as the massively successful Forza Horizon franchise, but the love for this classic title never went away, and now we’ll be able to enjoy it on current-generation systems.

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered will officially launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 6. The Nintendo Switch version will launch n November 13. The game will cost $39.99 for the home consoles while the PC iteration will be priced at $29.99.
