Monster Hunter Rise Has Now Shipped More Than 7 Million Units

Capcom’s success with Monster Hunter Rise continues as the company has revealed yet another milestone for the title. Just a last month the company reported that the game had shipped more than 5  million units, which was an already impressive feat to be sure. Now the company has announced that Monster Hunter Rise has now shipped more than 7 million units worldwide. Considering that the title launched only a little more than two months ago, this is an extremely impressive achievement.

To commemorate this occasion, Capcom has revealed that they will be giving out yet another free DLC pack. Dubbed the Kamura Pack 3, this collection consists of special in-game items that will assist any Hunter. The pack will include 30 Mega Potions, 20 Well-done Steaks, 10 Large Barrel Bombs, five Mega Demon drugs, and five Mega Armorskins. The Kamura Pack 3 is available now for anyone who owns the game.

With more than 7 million units going out the door, this makes Monster Hunter Rise the 7th highest selling game in the company’s history. The six titles sitting ahead of it are some of the most legendary titles in video game history. They are in order from six, Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, Resident Evil 6, Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, and at the very top is Monster Hunter: World with an astonishing 17.1 million copies.

To make Monster Hunter Rise’s ascent on the list even more impressive is the game it ended up surpassing: Street Fighter II. Yes, the original 1992 all-time classic has been holding its own in terms of massive sales for the better part of 29 years. Obviously, Monster Hunter Rise has a ways to go before it hits the echelon of Monster Hunter: World, but with so many units being sold at such a rapid pace, we wouldn’t be surprised to see it move up the list as the year progresses.

Monster Hunter Rise is available now for the Nintendo Switch. A PC version is slated to launch sometime next year.
