Recently, The Pokémon Company announced the dates for the Pokémon GO Fest for July 17-18. Since the game’s beginning, this Fest is an annual event held by Niantic and The Pokémon Company which gives players exclusive opportunities and events during the celebration. While players do have to purchase tickets to take part in special events for the Fest, this year to celebrate the mobile game’s fifth anniversary the game will only be $5 dollars instead of $14.99.
Pokémon GO has gained a lot of popularity among Pokémon players of the main series as well as others who may not be as familiar with the series due to its augmented reality allowing players to catch pokémon on their phone. The game encourages people to go out and explore the outdoors in search of their favorite pokémon.
For this year’s exclusive events, each day will have new events with changing habitats, Pokémon, and special research challenges. Players will be able to catch pokémon in various environments such as the jungle, desert mountain, beach, and cave that will change hourly. Trainers will be able to work with other players across the world to unlock bonuses for the Global Challenge Arena. Additionally, there will be special raids with over 75 different species of pokémon to catch. Some of these Pokémon will even have special costumes. For those who are able to complete the special research challenge, they will have the chance to encounter a powerful, mythical Pokémon, a shirt for their avatar, and more. There will even be exclusive t-shirt for the event available, so players can wear their shirt during the Fest.
