Momocon 2018 Will Host Dozens of Gaming Competitions Over Memorial Day Weekend

Momocon 2018 is almost upon us, and the annual gaming-centric event will be host to gaming culture as a whole. As per tradition, there were also be an amazing lineup of competitive and casual games for people to partake in.

First and foremost, Momocon will once again be hosting a Super Smash Bros. Melee and a Super Smash Bros. Wii U tournament with tons of top level players competing in each game. The likes of Hungrybox, Wizzrobe, n0ne, Ryan Ford, and La Luna will be competing in the Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament, and many familiar faces in the Super Smash Bros. Wii U tournament will be competing, such as Nairo, MKLeo, Dabuz, Larry Lurr, and ANTi. With tournaments for both singles and doubles, there will be a combined pot of $15,000 up for grabs with both games.

In addition, smaller tournaments for popular fighting titles Street Fighter V, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Tekken 7, and more will also be happening during the event. Also, many small, more casual competitions for Overwatch, League of Legends, Fortnite, Brawlhalla, Paladins, and SMITE will be hosted during the event. Players will have the ability to register for these events once inside the convention center.

“This year’s lineup is perfect for fans of eSports and professionals alike,” said Chris Stuckey, co-chair of MomoCon, in a press release. “We want MomoCon to be an event where you can not only celebrate your favorite players and games, but also a place where you can grow and learn more about the industry.”

Momocon 2018 will run from Thursday, May 24 through the weekend until Sunday, May 27 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
