Modern Warfare Season 4 Gets New Trailer, Captain Price and Gaz Teased As New Operators

Over the past few weeks, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been teasing big changes for the upcoming season four – primarily within the now openable bunkers in Warzone, one of which seems to contain a nuclear warhead. Data miners have also retrieved a lot of information from last week’s update, and now a lot of what they uncovered seems to be confirmed.  Call of Duty dropped a new trailer today which shows a few highlights from the first three seasons, and shows what appears to be the warhead from Bunker 11, before delving into teasers for next week’s season four release.

The biggest news is that Captain Price, a fan favorite from the campaign, as well as all previous Modern Warfare games, will be the featured playable operator of the season four battle pass. At the end of the trailer, he appears next to what appears to be Kyle “Gaz” Garrick from the first two Modern Warfare games, as well as a new Mil-Sim variant, and Iskra, who was released earlier this month.

The weapons that Price and Gaz appear to be holding are also very interesting, as they are likely the new weapons being added to the game this season. Price appears to be holding a Galil – a Russian assault rifle – which has interestingly featured only in Black Ops games thus far, so this being its first appearance in a Modern Warfare game, it will be interesting to see how it operates. Gaz seems to be holding the Vector – a very fast firing SMG – which is also a fan favorite and has appeared in several CoD games over the years. The Vector has apparently been in the game files for quite some time, so fans will be relieved to see it finally released. In the past, it has had one of the highest fire rates in the game, with very low recoil, but also very low damage.  It will likely play similarly to the MP7, so it will be interesting to see how the two guns stack up.

Price’s final line in the trailer leads to some speculation as well, Price signs off with “Bravo-6, going dark,” which signifies a night mission/the use of night vision goggles. Earlier in the trailer, Ghost can be seen donning night vision goggles as well, and within the game, thermal scopes indicate that they are not compatible with night vision. There has been no confirmation of this, but they could be hinting at a night version of the Verdansk Warzone map.

A night mode, along with the changes that could result from the hidden nuke in Bunker 11, could spell some massive changes for the Warzone map, but we will have to wait and see what exactly changes when season four releases on June 3rd.
