Minecraft Earth’s 0.20 Update: New Mobs, Fourth Challenge, Build Plates, and Controls

When Minecraft Earth was released for iOS and Android in 2019, mobile users were thrilled. Since then, the game developer Mojang Studios has been releasing updates every month in the block based world. For this month, the 0.20 update has a couple game-changing features that new and current users may want to look into.

One of the highlights of update is the two new mobs (non-playable characters): Vanilla Squids and Albino Cows. By visiting near bodies of water or grass fields, users are able to hunt or raise them as part of their resources. Users can even add in the journal when they encounter new mobs throughout their journey.

Users may even encounter them through the newly added fourth challenge season, Dark Forest (a large biome/area known for its thick and dark canopies). Similar to the previous seasonal challenges, the Dark Forest is a golden opportunity for users to obtain new resources upon its completion. As a new season drops every two weeks, missing this challenge can definitely be a waste of an opportunity for unique and additional resources.

There are also epic and large biome build plates now available through the in-app store. Users can discover and build more infrastructure through the new build plate variations and share their spectacular work with their friends. As Minecraft Earth infrastructures can be enlarged to life-size models, users can apply these new features to upgrade their current projects.

Lastly, unlike the original Minecraft game, Minecraft Earth 0.20 allows users to split their stack (items) from the inventory and into the hotbar (inventory used by the player). Users can now control how many stacks they would like to use by splitting the amount in their inventory and hotbar. Therefore, through this convenient and flexible access to the inventory, users may find Minecraft Earth’s update as a way to hone their creative senses during this upcoming summer.
