Microsoft Leak Included Roadmap For Unannounced Bethesda Games Including An Oblivion Remaster, A Fallout 3 Remaster, Dishonored 3, & More

Yesterday, Microsoft suffered a massive leak of unredacted, highly confidential documents that began appearing online. These documents were a part of Microsoft’s legal case against the FTC which ruled in favor of Microsoft. The leak revealed a number of interesting details including that Elder Scrolls VI will be an Xbox exclusive, Activision has been briefed on Nintendo’s next console, new, updated Xbox Series X|S models, plans for next-gen console in 2028, an intention to acquire Nintendo, new Xbox hardware and accessories, Phil Spencer’s reaction to the PS5 reveal, and more. Another interesting reveal to come out of the leak was three-year-old document for Bethesda’s release schedule before Microsoft’s acquisition of ZeniMax Media in 2021. The document included several titles that have already been released such as Doom Eternal, Deathloop, and Starfield but it also mentions other unannounced titles, most notably remasters of Oblivion and Fallout 3.

The list is part of an internal Microsoft document from July 2020 so it is a bit outdated and the timing may have changed due to the pandemic but so far, a majority of the games listed have been released. For 2020, Doom Eternal & DLC, The Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor, Fallout: Wastelanders, and Deathloop. For 2021, Starfield, Elder Scrolls Online: Expansion, Redfall, Doom Eternal DLC, Ghostwire Tokyo, Fallout Worlds (Fallout 76), and Project Hibiki were listed.

Things get interesting when it comes for the years 2022-2024. We know that Machine Games is working on an Indiana Jones game but the leak reveals that there are 3 planned titles suggesting a trilogy. We’ll learn more next year as Bethesda’s Todd Howard said “We’ll talk more next year,” about Bethesda and Machine Games’ plan for Indiana Jones in an interview with Esquire. the list for 2022 also includes an Oblivion Remaster, Elder Scrolls Online: Expansion, and Starfield DLC. Bethesda’s list for 2023 features a potential new Doom title called Doom Year Zero. The year 2024 has listed the Fallout 3 Remaster, Ghostwire: Tokyo sequel, and Dishonored 3.

We’ll have to wait and see whether or not the list is accurate but if so, the leak may have just given a rundown of what we can expect from Bethesda in the next few years.
