Microsoft Announces Killer Instinct Definitive Edition

Microsoft has released a trailer for and announced Killer Instinct: Definitive Edition. The collection will include all 26 Killer Instinct fighters, including remastered versions of characters from the original Killer Instinct games. The collection will also have special guest characters Rash from Battletoads and General RAAM from the Gears of War franchise, both of which are Rare and Microsoft IP, respectively.

Killer Instinct: Definitive Edition will also have the game’s 20 stages, all of which will have updated lighting, taking full advantage of the Xbox One, visually. This edition will also include the classic versions of Killer Instinct 1 and 2, recreating the arcade favorites for the Xbox One. Other little special features included with the Definitive Edition also include every original character trailer and never before seen concept art. The overworld for the map in Killer Instinct: Definitive Edition will be interactive and have details about the stage listed as part of the overworld.

If all of this does not make this seem like a must get for fans of the Killer Instinct franchise, there will also be a video included with the game that goes behind the scenes of Killer Instinct. The video will dive into history of the creation of the franchise. The video will also touch on subjects such as the history of the designs that went into the games and the world of Killer Instinct.
