Nvidia’s First Ever Game ‘VR Funhouse’ is Now Available on Steam

Nvidia has been a powerhouse in the gaming world for its years of top quality graphic cards. After many advancements in VR, Nvidia has officially released VR Funhouse, utilizing all the new technologies possible. Nvidia used PhysX Destruction, FleX, Flow, and HairWorks to create the most advanced physics effects possible in their very first game.

VR Funhouse is a virtual reality game created using Unreal Engine 4 and feature seven small carnival style games that highlight the new technology being used to enhance the VR platform. In blog post Nvidia stated,

“When we first saw some of the early VR games and experiences, we quickly realized that something was missing: there was little to no physics simulation. Because VR places you inside of the experience with the ability to touch and interact with virtual objects, it is critical that those objects behave and react in realistic ways. Unlike traditional PC games, physics in VR games is not just visual effects. It’s fundamental to immersion.”

Nvidia also said that they were going to open source VR Funhouse later this summer to “encourage developers to experiment with [their] SDK.”

The only catch to this new VR game is that it requires the best of graphic cards. The recommended graphic card to use is the GeForce GTX 980 Ti which can range from $399.99- $809.99. For the best experience they say to use dual GeForce GTX 1080’s which costs around $1,434 total.

As of now VR Funhouse can be downloaded for free from Steam. The minimum recommended system requirements are Windows 7, Intel Core i7, 8 gb RAM, and high end graphics card. A VR headset such as HTC Vive will also be necessary.
