Today, Microsoft has released six backwards compatible games for the Xbox One. On top of those releases, Microsoft has revealed the release dates of 19 more original Xbox games coming soon. During an episode of Inside Xbox, information was dropped about when the original Xbox games will be purchasable, which fans are super excited for.
On April 17, Microsoft will release the following original Xbox titles:
- Blinx: The Time Sweeper
- Breakdown
- Conker: Live & Reloaded
- The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
- Hunter: The Reckoning
- Jade Empire
- Panzer Dragoon Orta
- SSX 3
On April 26, the next group of titles that will release are:
- Destroy All Humans!
- Full Spectrum Warrior
- Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction
- MX Unleashed
- Panzer Elite Action: Fields of Glory
- Star Wars Battlefront
- Star Wars Battlefront II
- Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
- Star Wars Jedi Starfighter
- Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
- Star Wars Republic Commando
Since the announcement of the original Xbox games coming soon, fans have been stirred up by nostalgia, “Praying for KOTOR2 AND JADE EMPIRE backwards compatibility by far two of the best old school Xbox exclusives of all time”. One follower exclaims, “Conker Please! Gimme! and you can have my money!” As many people in the community can hardly keep still from the anticipation of the games, there are some games that have released today that could hopefully suffice. Today six original Xbox Titles have resurfaced, such as: Sonic Generations, Darksiders, Gears of War 2, Portal 2, Red Dead Redemption, and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
Seeing as Sonic Generations, Gears of War 2 and many other of the previously named games have sustained impressively ratings, the hype for the upcoming games is understandable. When most of these titles do become available, Microsoft states that “You’ll be able to play all of these games on Xbox One through the disc you already own, or you can purchase them digitally in the Microsoft Store.” So whether fans have copies of the games or not, Microsoft has them covered.
