Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PC Had the 2nd Biggest Launch for a PlayStation Studio Title on Steam

The PC release of Sony’s Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered has been out for roughly 72 hours and it’s already being considered one of the best PlayStation offerings on the PC platform. This is evident by the newest tidbit of information from Benji-Sales, who has just revealed that Insomniac’s IP has reached an impressive milestone. According to Benji, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered hit a Steam peak of concurrent players of around 64,893 in less than 48 hours. That makes the title the 2nd best launch for a PlayStation title on the Steam platform.

As you can see in the tweet above, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered’s numbers have allowed it to jump to the second spot in terms of its peak concurrent players statistics, beating out other well-known PlayStation IPs such as Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone. However, there is still one PlayStation title that reigns supreme here, God of War. At an astounding 73,529 peak concurrent player base, God of War is still the shining diamond for Sony on the Steam platform. This doesn’t take away Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered amazing achievement, it just wasn’t quite enough to usurp the current king on the list.

However, things can always change and those numbers might become flipped in due time, an unlikely scenario but still a possibility. Marvel’s Spider-Man originally launched in September 2018 for the PlayStation 4. The game was critically acclaimed and is now often considered one of the greatest superhero video games of all time. The title was remastered in 2020 and was packaged alongside its sequel Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales in the Ultimate Edition for the PlayStation 5. The success of the PC port, as well as other PlayStation IPs on the platform, will only reaffirm Sony’s endeavor to make more of their former exclusives available on the market. Their next title planned for this is Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves which houses both Uncharted 4: A Thieves End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
