Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Releases Its Final Launch Trailer

Insomniac Games’ much-anticipated sequel to one of 2018’s best games, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has released its final launch trailer. The trailer dropped on Saturday and revealed a lot more in store for our two favorite web-heads than was previously shown. New looks at staggering foes, incredible set pieces, and what is sure to be an emotional story at the heart of the game were shown in what is to be our last look before the game’s release on Friday.

Speaking of foes, the trailer showed us our first look at Sandman. This addition just adds to the already immense amount of Spider-Man’s Rogues gallery that will appear in the game. Villains such as Lizard, Venom, Mysterio, Kraven, Mr. Negative and likely many more. The launch trailer and all previous trailers before this one have alluded to this Spider-Man Story being the most dangerous yet, as Peter and Miles don’t just have to face off with the aforementioned villains, but also themselves. Specifically, Peter, who will be the host of the Symbiote for a seemingly respectable portion of the game, already showing us how the parasite has affected Peter’s emotions and attitude towards even his closest allies.

“I’m the hero here, not you”- Peter Parker

The trailer also puts into focus the amazing, no pun intended, voice acting by all the cast, especially Yuri Lowenthal as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. The changes between the first game Peter and its sequel are night and day, with the Symbiote really adding an edge to Lowenthal’s performance. Nadji Jeter as Miles continues to blossom into adult life, having to further tackle the loss of his father, balancing school, and being a new Spider-Man. Laura Bailey as MJ is also front and center in the trailer, with MJ seemingly being the anchor for Pete’s struggles. But what seems to have fans most excited is Tony Todd’s spine-tingling portrayal of Venom himself as he fully embraces the animosity of Spider-Man’s most ferocious foe.

You can watch the trailer below for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and join fans as we all prepare to be greater, together on October 20th.
