Today, Square Enix and developer Crystal Dynamics announced a livestream for the upcoming game, Marvel’s Avengers. The War Table stream is set for June 24 and will showcase new gameplay and a look at how co-op will work. Recently, Crystal Dynamics revealed that they have been hard at work on the game and talked about how they have changed Captain America’s skillset. This is not the first Square Enix game that is getting a livestream showcase. People Can Fly is set to show off more of their next game, Outriders tomorrow. Instead of a single event or showcase, publisher Square Enix said that they will be announcing new details about its upcoming games individually.
Marvel’s Avengers was first announced at E3 2017. Proper gameplay was shown off last year at E3 2019 and it was set to be released in May 2020 but earlier this year, it was delayed to September. Gameplay was shown off at San Diego Comic-Con, Gamescom, and New York Comic-Con where Ms. Marvel, Kamala Khan was revealed as playable character in the game. As the Coronavirus pandemic continues to affect the video game industry, Crystal Dynamics revealed that they have joined the many other developers in transitioning to working from home.
The Outriders Broadcast is a monthly series where more details will be revealed about the upcoming RPG shooter. The first stream will reveal brand new gameplay, areas, never-before-seen powers, character class deep dives, and more.
It looks like Square Enix games will share monthly updates of their games leading up to their release. Outriders is set to be released Holiday 2020. Marvel’s Avengers will be released on September 4, 2020, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia.
