Ludwig, Alexey Pajitnov, and More Interviewed At IGN Live

IGN Live presented a number of interviews and panels from figures across the gaming industry, bringing executives, developers, and creators on-stage to discuss what’s next in gaming. With in-person coverage from the three day-long event, here are all the big interviews and moments from IGN Live last weekend:

Tetris creator Alexey Pajitnov, along with President of the Tetris Company Henk Rogers and President & CEO of Tetris, Inc. Maya Rogers, stopped by IGN Live for a brief chat celebrating the 40th anniversary of the release of Tetris. The trio discussed how fans can join in on celebrating the anniversary, citing collaborations with Minecraft and the Red Cross, as well as sharing fond memories from Tetris‘ long history and how the game and some of its iterations came to be.

Former game director for Respawn Entertainment Stig Asmussen made an appearance at IGN Live to talk about his new AAA studio Giant Skull, as well as his work at Respawn on the Star Wars: Jedi series. Asmussen explained his goals of creating great titles as well as a healthy work culture at his new studio, and teased their first project, revealing that the game will be a third-person action/adventure game with an original IP and world.

Takashi Iizuka, the head of Sonic Team, brought news about what fans can expect in his new game Sonic x Shadow Generations, an extended remake of Sonic Generations with a new Shadow-centric storyline. A full rundown of the interview by Takashi Iizuka can be found here.

Xbox CEO Phil Spencer followed up Sunday’s Xbox Games Showcase with an interview at IGN Live discussing all of the announcements, trailers, and games debuted at the Microsoft event, as well as teasing a new Xbox handheld console.
