Limited Run Games Sells More Than 25,000 Copies of Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game

Limited Run Games reported on Friday it has sold over 25,000 Switch copies of Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game in less than three hours. The video game distributor posted the news to Twitter, calling the milestone their “biggest release of all time.” The video game was available for pre-order on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. However, the numbers reported by Limited Run Games only accounted for the physical Nintendo Switch copies, making the feat all the much bigger.

Limited Run Games is a video game distribution company that sells physical copies of digital releases. The company announced three different boxed versions of Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game. The standard edition includes a Clash at DemonHead concert ticket, reversible cover art, and an instruction booklet — it will cost you $35 dollars. The classic edition (priced at $55) gives buyers a case inspired by Sega Genesis games. Last, the K.O. edition (made for the super fan) will come with a case that, when opened, has lights and music from the band Anamanaguchi for a small fee of $139.99. The different versions have been available since January 15th and will continue to be sold for six more weeks.

This is the second release of Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game. The title by Ubisoft was first launched in 2013 alongside its movie counterpart Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World. The arcade-style “beat ’em up” game was delivered on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 before being de-listed in 2014. After the game’s revival was teased, Ubisoft made it official during the last Ubisoft Forward in September. Now, fans of the graphic novel (or movie) can play as Scott Pilgrim on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Stadia.
