Lightning McQueen Coming to Rocket League This Month

One of the most iconic racing cars of all time is finally making their long awaited debut in Rocket League. It’s none other than Disney and Pixar’s Lightning McQueen from the all time classic animated film Cars. In a special collaboration event that is such an obvious matchup we’re surprised that it hasn’t happened earlier in the game’s lifetime. The bundle, which is essentially just a cosmetic, is available this week, and is the very first car in the title to have a dynamic expression.

That means that Lightning McQueen’s eyes will actually move around and change expressions depending on the situation of the game. The pack also comes wth three distinct color for the car. This includes the classic red, a deep crimson, and a blue color. You can also a new set of wheels to use, including the whitewall wheels Radiator Springs residents Luigi and Guido, an all time classic. This bundle also includes a Ka-chow Goal Explosion, a Lightning McQueen Player Banner, and a Life Is A Highway Player song by musical group Rascal Flatts.

The bundle will be available for 2500 in game credits. As with other licensed cars that have been used in Rocket League, customizations on Lightning McQueen are a bit limited. You can add boosts, trails, toppers, and goal explosions to his repertoire, but antennas are not able to be applied to his chassis. In addition, you cannot use any decals on him except the ones including in the bundle. Still, one of the most revered and popular cars in media history is finally available on arguably one of the most popular car multiplayer titles in recent memory. Ka-Chow!
