Life is Strange 2 Gets Official Release Date for Episode 2: Rules

Life is Strange 2 has been on the list of many people’s games to play, but with the episodic style of the games construction, players have to wait a length of time before they can keep going. The first episode was released back late November, and showed the ugly realism of Trump’s America in the first episode, Roads. It had some controversial reactions, but fans of the new narrative were asking for more, especially the people who fell in love with the two main characters, Sean and Daniel. They have been giving nothing but excellent feedback to developers DONTNOD Entertainment.

Sadly, however, there was a slight delay for the second chapter. During the first Life is Strange, there were roughly two months between each chapter, a decent pace for players to go back in and change the choices, or think and linger on the ones they made. The developers stated that they wanted to make sure that each episode came out when they were satisfied with it, and not on a timed basis like the first one had been. So all that had been given was a generalization of January 2019.

However, with a recent release of a live-action trailer, Episode 2: Rules, was finally given a date and information of what’s to come for Sean and Daniel:

Life is Strange 2: Episode 2 “Rules” continues the story where it left off, with Sean and Daniel Diaz on the run from the police after their father’s tragic incident and the rise of Daniel’s supernatural abilities. So, they must brave the cold as they continue their journey, but as they move through the snowy terrain, Daniel begins to get sick and Sean must make the decision to bring them to their distant grandparents’ home.

There, Daniel becomes friends with the next door neighbor, Chris Erikson, who thinks he might have powers similar to the younger of the two brothers. There, they encounter his superhero alter ego, Captain Spirit. However, with the friendship growing, Sean has to lay down some ground rules about Daniel and his powers, namely, never using them in public, never talking about them, and to always run from danger.

Daniel’s choices and decisions will be around these ground rules, whether to explore his abilities, or use them in a time of need. With new characters being introduced, and Daniel’s new powers being tried and tested, it’s clear Sean and Daniel’s story has only just begun.

Life is Strange 2: Episode 2 “Rules” will be released on January 24, 2019 for PC, PS4, and XBox One. The new episode will be available for $7.99 USD when it comes out.
