Resident Evil Requiem is set to release soon, and two leaks have revealed that the game will be indeed featuring multiple playable characters, something that has been reported and rumored. The playable characters coming will be Rosemary Winters and Leon S. Kennedy.

Earlier today, a leaked image of new cover art for Requiem on the PlayStation Store features Leon S. Kennedy. The art shows a stubbled and haggard-looking Leon looming over Grace Ashcroft, the other main protagonist of the game. Leon is featuring his signature look from Resident Evil 4 with his floppy hair and the snazzy leather jacket lined with fur.

There was speculation over Leon’s involvement and inclusion earlier this year when Capcom declined to answer questions over the character. The developers even said that Leon would be a poor fit as a protagonist for the game’s quieter sections, as he is now too grizzled to be scared.

Last month, Producer Masato Kumazawa confirmed that “yes, there are going to be some characters from the past series to come in” but said that fans shouldn’t “over-expect or hype it.”

In addition to the PlayStation Store leak, GameStop may have accidentally revealed Rosemary Winters’ inclusion to the game. GameStop listed what’s coming to the Deluxe Edition of the game, including bonus content and new skins for the as-yet-announced character. The Deluxe Edition includes The Sanctuary, an Expansion pass which adds two new story scenarios and “a major Mercenaries mode update.”

There is also a Shadow Walker Costume Pack which says that it includes “three exclusive outfits for Rosemary Winters”, and a Morphic Visor Cosmetic Filter which adds “a unique cosmetic look for Rose’s visor.”

We’ll more than likely get official confirmation later in the week during The Game Awards. Resident Evil Requiem releases on February 27, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
