LEGO DC Super-Villains Launch Trailer Released

What is the world to do when the heroes of the Justice League mysteriously vanish? Play the villain of course! LEGO DC Super-Villains gives players the opportunity to do just that. Join the ranks of fan-favorite baddies such as the Joker, Harley Quinn, Lex Luthor, Deathstroke, and many, many more in their attempt to wreak havoc on the streets of Gotham and Metropolis. Check out the launch trailer here:

When the Justice League vanishes and an impostor group from an alternate universe, the Justice Syndicate, steps in to take their place, the villains don’t take too kindly to the recasting. Spearheaded by the Joker (voiced by none other than Mark Hamill himself) and Lex Luthor, the evil-doers band together to put an end to the Justice Syndicate and usher in their own hilarious brand of chaos. The game is sure to follow suit with the LEGO’s signature comedy style, bringing back writer Joe Moore, who worked on many other hero-themed LEGO games including LEGO Marvel’s Avengers, both LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, and LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham.

The game also boasts an extensive character builder, allowing the player to customize the aesthetics of their villain, the superpowers they possess, what weapon they brandish, even their personality. The customization runs deep, getting into minute details such as the character’s voice and even the hit impact effect and color when you’re beating up an enemy.

The voice cast for the game is stacked as well. In addition to Mark Hamill reprising his iconic role as the Joker, voice-acting elites such as Tara Strong and Nolan North provide their talents as Harley Quinn and Ultraman respectively. Tara Strong is well-known in the animation biz as the voice of Timmy Turner from Fairly OddParents, Bubbles from the Powerpuff Girls, and even the DC character Raven in Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go! Nolan North is known best for his role as Nathan Drake from the Uncharted series.

With a star-studded cast, insane character customization feature, and sure-to-be hilarious story, LEGO DC Super-Villains is shaping up to be a hit (and run!) Check out our hands-on look at the game at Comic Con 2018. LEGO DC Super-Villains is slated for release on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Switch on October 16.
