Kingdom Hearts III Toy Story World Announcement & 2018 Release Window

Disney’s D23 Level Up event happened today in Anaheim, CA where fans were lined up to get a peak at some big announcements for the next few AAA titles in gaming. During the presentation, which was live streamed on Twitch, Youtube, and Facebook, new information was given about Star Wars Battlefront 2, Spider-Man, and last but not least Kingdom Hearts III. It hasn’t been that long since fans got a fresh look at the game since the most recent trailer was shown at one of the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra concerts during the week of E3.

The last trailer seemed to revive the excitement for the game since there was little to no news about the game in the previous year. Even though the title was shown last during the presentation it certainly had big news to share, as the games head director Tetsuya Nomura came onto the stage and presented a 5 minute long video revealing new combat, cutscenes, areas, and to reveal a brand new Disney world in the game, Toy Story.

The Disney Pixar film is confirmed to be one of the destinations Sora and his friends will visit in the much anticipated main entry in the series. There was a lengthy cutscene with Woody, Buzz, and other familiar characters from the beloved movie as well. The trailer also confirmed that Sora will be able to have up to 5 party members accompany him during his journey in certain points in the game.

The last big surprise of the trailer was that it ended with “Coming in 2018” instead of the “Now in Development” that has followed previous trailers. Gamestop has also made preorders available for the game. Kingdom Hearts III will be available for Playstation 4 and Xbox One next year.
