King Reveals Release Date for New Candy Crush Solitaire Game

Balatro is a deck-building roguelike card game where players use a mix of strategy and humor to create powerful decks while navigating procedurally generated challenges. The gameplay features a unique mix of solitaire and poker. Balatro’s widespread success has won several awards, and now other games intend to follow in its footsteps. The Candy Crush saga is one such example, as King intends to release a new Candy Crush mobile game called Candy Crush Solitaire. Like Balatro, this game will blend core concepts of solitaire with creative gameplay elements, specifically ones from the famous Candy Crush series.

King first revealed the concept of their new game last year and later described it in further detail in November 2024 via a blog post on their official website. The post introduces Candy Crush Solitaire as a “Free Tripeaks Solitaire Card Game” that players can use to “train [their] brain and keep [their] mind sharp.” Players follow Candy Crush characters through an adventure that travels across the globe, creating fictitious postcards as they progress through the game.

Candy Crush Solitaire was officially announced today along with its release date via the game’s official announcement trailer which was posted to YouTube. The video opens with a familiar chocolate Candy Crush ball bouncing between solitaire cards as cheerful music plays. The screen reads “playing solitaire just got sweeter” as the animation seamlessly transitions into gameplay footage. This consists of candy themed solitaire cards being affected by colorful Candy Crush puzzle mechanics. It concludes by encouraging viewers to pre-register for the game prior to its official release, which will occur on February 6, 2025, according to the video’s description.

Candy Crush Solitaire will be available for free on iOS and Android devices following its upcoming February release.
