Ironhide Studios Reveals Junkworld

Ironhide Studios, the developers behind Kingdom Rush, have revealed their next IP: Junkworld. The game marks a new step for Ironhide, which has traditionally made games in a fantasy setting, towards a post-apocalyptic setting, adding a breath of fresh air to their tried and true tower defense formula.

Ironhide Studios is an indie developer based in Uruguay which has been producing top-quality flash-games for years. The studio has dipped into RTS and turn-based action games, but their bread and butter has come from the tower defense genre. Since their very first traditional tower defense title, Kingdom Rush, Ironhide has proven that they know exactly what makes a great game and have been refining their formula with spin-off titles and expansions, like Kingdom Rush Origins and Kingdom Rush Vengance, each adding new mechanics, monsters, troops and towers to their ever expanding roster. Now, the developers look to be taking all that they’ve learned from years of experience and are pumping that into a brand new IP.

Junkworld will offer the same blend of strategy and chaos that Ironhide is known for, as well as their trademark art style and sense of humor, so fans hungry for more high-quality tower defense action will have plenty to sink their teeth into. Players will have an array of towers to choose from, each with separate upgrades to consider when deciding what troops to deploy. Ironhide studios explains it best:

Discover the best combinations, bring them into battle, and use your customized arsenal to destroy your enemies! Place your defenses wherever you want and efficiently manage them to bring the foes down with each tower’s special skills.

Armed with towers, troops and strategy, players will defend various apocalyptic locations, like radioactive swamps and endless deserts, in order to take on the regime that’s taken power after the fall of society and free the world from their dastardly clutches. Junkworld is releasing soon on the Google Play store.
