Infinity Nikki Reaches, Breaks Records with Nearly $15 Million in First Month

Infinity Nikki is the latest installment of the Nikki series by Papergames, or Infold Games outside of  China. Following its launch in December 2024, it made quite a positive impression in the mobile gaming sphere. The free-to-play open-world dress-up mobile game has already proven its popularity through its sales, breaking records with the revenue gained from in-app purchases, like cosmetic items, outfits, and other game features.

Players control Nikki as she traverses through the whimsical world of Miraland alongside her adorable cat companion named Momo. The game takes players through a series of diverse nations, each of which possesses its own culture and habitat. While much of the gameplay centers around dressing up, Nikki’s outfits serve an important purpose as their magical abilities allow Nikki to progress through the story. Her clothing items contain the powerful energy of Whimstars, which are the physical embodiments of inspiration. By harnessing said inspiration in the form of clothing, Nikki is able to float, glide, and shrink her way through puzzles.

Infinity Nikki recently hit a major milestone, reaching almost $15 Million in profit during its first month live. This level of revenue was reached on mobile devices alone and did not include profits made from the PlayStation 5 and Microsoft Windows versions of the games. Data gathered by GamingonPhone shows that Infinity Nikki earned $3.51 million during its launch week. The revenue increased to $4.26 million the second week, and then $3.84 million in the third. The game’s profits ended up dropping to $1.66 million by the fifth week, but these statistics work together to demonstrate just how popular Infinity Nikki was following its release. Most of the game’s profits come from users in China, where downloads surpassed over 5 million. This means that China has contributed to over 42% of Infinity Nikki’s total downloads.

Infinity Nikki is currently available for free on both Android and iOS devices for any potential players. The game continues to incorporate seasonal events and updates, constantly adding new content.

I am captivated by video games and how they function as a story telling medium. Mobile games, specifically, are increasingly complex forms of entertainment that can be played on the go. While many video games are available only to those who can afford expensive consoles and computers, mobile games are designed for the average person.
