This perplexing adventure game urges players to utilized their wits in hopes of manipulating their enemies into destroying one another rather than needing to deal with them first-hand. Each situation must be approached methodically and strategically in accordance with your surrounding environment. Players adopt the role of Styx, a young girl who is seeking revenge after her family is murdered by the overlord that resides in the city of Subaeria. She must fight her way against masses of murderous androids, and the best way to do so is to manipulate them into scheming against their own kind. Subaeria is an underworld world filled with mysteries and danger, and it’s up to you to unravel them all while juggling a visceral story paired with tricky gameplay.
Each room you enter features its own puzzle that must be solved with whatever skills you have at hand. These skills can be unlocked as you continue through your journey, and new skins or buffs may be acquired in subsequent playthroughs, granting replayability. A new labyrinth is generated each play session, similar to the features of a roguelike, meaning no one journey will be identical to another. You’re eventually granted with your own personal drone that you may use as leverage against the hordes of robots. Utilize it to its fullest potential or let it zip about idly if you don’t think you need the extra manpower.
