Play as death’s right hand man who delivers roaming souls into the afterlife. Adult Swim Games has recently announced the official trailer for their RPG game, Death’s Gambit. The epic adventure game is set to release August 14, 2018.
Death’s Gambit is set in a somber medieval era populated with non-purged souls. Players pose as a knight on the crusade to send the immortal souls to the afterlife, but these souls have no desire to seek their eternal peace. Unfortunately, it is not their choice.
The 2D art style impressively expresses the intensity of the story line as it is layered with dramatic scenery. The main character has been cut down and left to freeze over until a horned, god like creature appears and resurrects the knight to use him as a death delivery man.
As the resurrected knight, players are challenged to “think outside the box” when they are caught in battle with ancient foes. Players must learn to adapt to their side scrolling platforms to defeat the brutal bosses. It is emphasized that timing is everything. Gamers can also give their knight a deadly advantage as they will be able to “equip and arrange [their] equipment to find powerful synergies and combinations to create a build all of [their] own.” However, no matter how strategic or well equipped a knight can be, not every player is cut out to handle the gruesome bosses of Death’s Gambit. Luckily, they will have the chance to rematch their foes to earn priceless rewards.
While Death’s Gambit was originally set to release two years ago, fans are relieved to see that the game has come back to life. This time, the game is here to stay as fans can now preorder Death’s Gambit, and will receive a few in game rewards such as: the Death Scythe, Necrotic Shield and Legendary Pale Mount. Death’s Gambit will be coming soon to Steam and PlayStation 4.
