Humble Hearts Announces its New Stealth-Comedy Never Stop Sneakin’

Humble Hearts, the one-man game development company run by Dean Dodrill, has announced its next project following the 2012 release of Dust: An Elysian Tail. The new game is Never Stop Sneakin’, a Metal Gear Solid-inspired stealth game with a humorous spin to its plot. Dodrill announced the game yesterday with a trailer after a series of tweets teasing the project and a few of its assets.

According to the game’s description, Never Stop Sneakin’ involves the scheme of madman Amadeus Guildenstern, who has traveled through time and kidnapped every US President. Players must “infiltrate the enemy base, avoid their patrols, and hack their systems to gain valuable intel. Build your Sneakin’ HQ, and figure out how to stop Guildenstern’s time-traveling scheme!” The trailer also introduces “Guildenstern’s Elite Unit of Villains,” all of whom come with a pun in their names; there’s also a parody of Metal Gear Solid going on, highlighted in the trailer by Guildenstern’s Vice President, who is a helicopter.

On Twitter, Dodrill made a statement accompanying the trailer, writing, “I had several goals I wanted to accomplish with my sophomore effort as a game developer. I wanted to try something in a completely different aesthetic, and go fully-polygonal in the process. I wanted to create something procedural and infinitely re-playable, and design engaging combat with the simplest controls possible. I think I’ve accomplished these things, and it’s been a thrill to create something completely different from Dust:AET.”

Never Stop Sneakin’ will be released for the Nintendo Switch later this holiday season.

Glenn Carreau: Hi! I'm Glenn: recent college grad specializing in interactive arts and media, writer, game creator and connoisseur, pop culture junkie, and semi-professional fan-artist and blogger. In my free time, I function as an unnecessarily specific gaming encyclopedia. I also play the violin, binge crime/detective procedural shows (still not sure why), and do a large amount of digital painting. I'm probably too attached to Dragon Age, but not really inclined to do anything about it. I'm a huge fan of cosplay, foxes, the prose of Jenny Lawson, and Strong Female Characters™.
